A Bit About Me
Hello, my name is Justin Tatsuki Lee. What originally drew me to join CSBN was a small interest in what seemed like something I could do while I do my studies in Applied Human Physiology to get some needed time “away” from looking at a textbook most of the time. I had a small interest in sports broadcasting from my time playing sports like football and swimming and creating videos for social media. My experiences in CSBN were like none other, I got the chance to work so many different positions that I didn’t even think were available to me to do. It really helped me understand the complex work of sports broadcasting and being familiarized with positions that many professionals work in the industry. Being able to work every position really helped hone my capabilities, but also figure out where my strengths and weaknesses were with each position that I wanted to refine or work on, especially with the on-camera positions which my main interests were. The most memorable events of CSBN were definitely spending time with the crew and being able to be around a willing and capable group of individuals who shared the same passion as I do in sports broadcasting. Both during broadcasts and during our down times to hang out and become friends. CSBN helped cultivate the skills and background needed to tackle the job market and be familiar with professional broadcasts that utilize the same framework as CSBN. Networking was also a major part of being prepared as well.
Today my current job is a freelance Play/Play commentator for Westcliff University in Irvine, California. My main responsibility is covering all of the university’s athletic sports and calling their games as the primary voice for the Warriors Sports Network. My future career goals are to become a primary play/play announcer for a major sports network in either football or baseball. I graduated in 2024 and spent 5 semesters with CSBN.
