A Bit About Me
Hello! My name is AJ Keenan and I am a proud CSBN Alumni from the Class of 2022. I came to Dodge mostly because of CSBN, I had done sports broadcasts at my high school but wanted to further my education in a welcoming, highly technical, and challenging environment like at CSBN. During my seven semesters, or entire college career, in CSBN, I rebuilt the switcher multiple times, directed several live broadcasts, designed the Tier 3 setup, ran cameras, and TD’ed numerous games. The two playoff games I TD’ed were probably my favorite CSBN broadcasts I was apart of, especially the first game that put us on Sportscenter Top 10! My experiences at CSBN directly helped me get a job as a Mobile Unit Engineer Apprentice at NEP Group right out of college. During the apprenticeship, the technical skills and teamwork that CSBN promotes heavily helped me advance quickly through the program and graduate 7 months early, and were explicitly called out by the company when announcing my graduation. Today, I am now a Mobile Unit Engineer for NEP Group, working on shows like Sunday Night Football, and a freelance studio/flypack designer for high schools and colleges across the country. As an engineer, my duties include ensuring all the gear is working properly and ensure all needed video/audio signals enter and exit the truck correctly. As a designer, I design and build TV studios/control rooms, such as one now operational at Millburn High School in New Jersey, and remote production kits, such as the Fridge that CSBN uses today. I am very proud of my status as a CSBN alumni and love seeing how the club has grown since I graduated and where all its alumni, past and future, end up. I’ve already run into several CSBN alumni in my work travels and can’t wait to run in to more for years to come.
